Tell the Truth B.B. Wolf by Judy Sierra is the story B.B. Wolf from the classic tale of The Three Little Pigs, but now B.B. Wolf is a new, better wolf, or so he says. When he is asked to tell the story of how he meet the three little pigs, B.B. Wolf becomes embarrassed and tells a lie. He said he accidently blew down the first house because he blew on a dandelion to make a wish. He blew down the second house trying to blow out a fire and he only came down the chimney because he was told to. When the three little pigs call B.B. Wolf on his lies, he is forced to tell the truth and apologize for what he did. At the end of the story B.B. Wolf makes it up to the three pigs by building them a new house. This picture story book would be a great asset to use in my second grade classroom because it is a book that offers a new point of view, humor, and …show more content…
Before reading the story I would ask one of my students to tell the real story of The Three Little Pigs. After reading the book, the class and I would compare and contrast the real story to the story B.B. Wolf told in the book. Then on their own each student would pick another fairy tale from the book that they know like Three Bill Goats Gruff, Rumpelstiltskin, or Hansel and Gretel and write their own story from the point of view of the villain. In their version of the story the villain would not be seen as a bad guy but instead as someone who made some mistakes. I believe my students would have a lot of fun coming up with their own stories. Tell the Truth B.B. Wolf is a story you haven’t heard before. There are other books out there that have the tale of The Three Little Pigs from the point of view of the wolf, but Judy Sierra is able to add humor and a lesson on honesty in her version. Tell the Truth B.B. Wolf was published Alfred A. Knopf in 2010 and is a great resource to get the kids imaginations

    The Mundane Wolf Analysis

“So he [wolf] huffed, and he puffed, and at last he blew the house down, and he ate up the little pig” (Jacobs). The quote above elucidates upon how, similar to a relentless tyrant who drowns his citizens in a sea of despotism, the wolf haughtily asserts its bona fide vigor by dining on the raw, though succulent, pork. Portrayed in yet another manner, the fundamental platform of the edifice proved to be that divisive factor that failed to unite the asunder parts of the home to yield a coherent whole: a reality that indisputably gave birth to the demises of the former two pigs. Whether it be the inane plan-of-action adopted by the pigs or the feeble state of straw or the frail nature of sticks, it can most definitely be asserted that such factors underscore the momentous significance of the possession of an impenetrable…

“Charles” Have you ever wondered what it would be like to trick someone into believing in a person that does not exist? That is exactly what Laurie tricked his mother into believing. In the story "Charles" by Shirley Jackson, the author uses the humble setting of a family home, clever dramatic irony, and creative foreshadowing to uncover the main character's true identity in order to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. The setting of Laurie’s house is used in many ways to create a platform for most of the story to take place.…

The truth of who you really are became a fallacy to the ears of many young minds, including mine. Implanted since I was a young child, you were always portrayed as the “Big Bad Wolf” who treated the three little pigs as delicious prey rather than a friendly neighbor who wanted to be more than an acquaintance. I question the reasons why you would let the media tarnish your name in such an evil manner. From Walt Disney creating a cartoon short called “Disney’s Silly Symphony: The Three Little Pigs” to Roald Dahl writing the story “The Three Little Pigs”, these two forms of art made me ask these three questions, why did you eat the pigs, even though you just wanted a cup of sugar? Were you also the same wolf who attack a little girl named Little…
