There are many similarities with The Cask of Amontillado and The Tell Tale Heart, but there are also many differences. First, the plans for each murder were very different. In the Cask of Amontillado, the muderer (Montresor) murdered the victim (Fortunato) in one night, and left him to die slowly. Also he made sure that Fortunato knew that he was the murderer. On the other hand, in the Tell Tale Heart the process of the murder happens over eight days, and the death is quick. The murderer suffocates him and he is dead fast.
