The word teleology is actually from the Greek word telos, which means by “purpose” or “goal” and logos, which are mean by “science” or “study”. Teleological ethics is referring to morality in the result or consequences of our behavior but not the behavior itself when we make any decisions or doing any things. From the perspective of teleological ethics, there is no right or wrong in human behavior itself but what deciding whether the actions or behaviors is morally wrong or right is based on what will happen as a consequence of the actions. In other words, if the outcomes or results of any action are positive and bring benefits, then that the action itself is considered morally right. “Well-being” and “good” here can be understood as happiness (Eggleston, 2012) and the absence of pain while by ‘unhappiness’ is the mean of lack of pleasure and pain (Bennett, 2005). According to Eggleston (2012), in point of view of utilitarianism, it may be seen as ethical to harm an individual for the benefit of the maximization of happiness. In the case study, Alvin and Vivian posting offensive material on Facebook page which is photo with captions and the consequences will determines whether these actions is right or wrong. For an example, a large amount of people are feeling happy and beneficial from one’s actions, thus the actions itself is considered as an ethical action.
