Therefore, this review concentrates on the fields of medicine (including general/family practitioners and specialists in neurology, dermatology, radiology, orthopedics, rheumatology, surgery, cardiology, pediatrics, pathology, renal care, genetics, and psychiatry), nursing (including hospital-based, community-based, nursing homes, and home-based care), pharmacy, the rehabilitation sciences (including occupational and physical therapy), social work, and speech pathology. the authors examined the literature (from case reports, pilot studies, randomized controlled trials, etc.) from successful adoption of videoconferencing-based telehealth programs.
In recent years, there has been increased focus on evidence-based policy translation. Therefore, the overarching purpose of this literature review was to provide policymakers, administrators, and healthcare professionals with an evidence-based foundation for informed decision-making regarding videoconferencing with a particular focus on the following research questions:
1. What are the necessary technological conditions that must be present to operate a clinical videoconferencing service?
2. What are the key lessons learned related to program adoption
