Dental Offense #3: Chomping your Nails
With all this talk about tooth abuse and dental police visits, you may get the urge to start biting your nails. Stop right there, and put your hands up! Nail biting is a nervous habit that's worse for your teeth than your nails.
Your nails eventually grow back (hopefully), but your teeth may suffer permanent damage. As the damage increases, you'll notice increased sensitivity in your teeth, and you may even end up with a gum infection.
Instead of biting your nails, use healthy stress-relieving techniques, such as controlled breathing, yoga, or running.
