I watched the video titled “Teens Talk: A diploma supports her daughter.” In this video, you can see the teenager forming her identity where an “identity is a self-portrait composed of many pieces” (Santrock, 2015, p.372). She was very disinterested in high school and unlikely to graduate until having a child at seventeen gave her the motivation to complete high school, thus becoming the first in her family to graduate high school. Her situation honestly is very different from my own. I really pushed myself in high school to make sure that I could get accepted into a good college so I could pursue an enjoyable job that would make a livable salary.
