Imaging growing up to parents that are drugs addicts, there is no food, no stable environment, and no guidance; you are just an innocent kid trying to survive this cruel world we live in. Some children find people that care about their well-being, and can help guide them to have a better future. On the other hand, there are some children that are not so lucky. The juvenile system is where a lot of children go because they found themselves into trouble and need help. 2,570 is the number of Children serving a life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole. The United Sates is the only country that sentence children to die in prison. Nearly half of the juveniles that are sentence to LWOP committed non-violent crimes. “ The legal system has no problems assigning children responsibility for their own decisions, implicitly concluded that crime committed by the young is the product of a deliberate decision-making process. These children die in prison (Schutte, Behind bars forever).”

It took place in August 2004 in Nashville, Tennessee. Earlier that day Mr. Allen seen and picked up Cyntonia Brown at a restaurant and negotiated a reasonable price for sexual activity. They both agreed on a price and with that being said Mr. Allen took Cyntonia to his home and Ms. Brown soon became uncomfortable by Mr. Allen talk about all his guns. Mr. Allen began to bend over the side of the bed and started shuffling items around, and Cyntonia believed whole heartedly that Mr. Allen was going to shoot her so she shot him instead (Guy, Cyntonia Brown). Just like Terrance Graham, Cyntonia had issues growing up. Her mother had her at a young age and was also addicted to drugs. Cyntonia bounced around from house to house. As a teen Cyntonia ended up being mistreated by men and ended up becoming a part of the child
