Recently a study was done in the St. Louis Outlet Mall where they put time restrictions on anyone under the age of twenty-one, teenagers were only allowed to be in the mall between certain times and on certain days if they were accompanied by an adult. This made the mall more appealing to customers who were looking for a safe and peaceful environment to shop. Sales, of course, dictate how well the business is doing and when sales are low businesses have the chance of being shut down. According to Munchy’s business analysis, sales are higher when the majority of customers are adults. So when teenagers come in and are being disruptive adults see that as unappealing and start to look for a new place to go to, leaving the business to now have a majority of their customers be teenagers. Teenagers aren’t going to spend as much as adults would thus causing sales to diminish. As mentioned in the paragraph above, restricting teenagers at the mall was an overall successful in achieving better service. Going along with the study done in the mall, sales had an increase because more adults were coming and shopping in the mall, knowing they would not be disturbed by any
