Feeling tired and depressed while being an outcast, sure sounds fun for a developing teen. Teens are spending too much time online that its hurting them. Teens compulsive desire to be online has come back to punch them in the face. Teens are becoming depressed, tired and rejected by their own peers. Teens need a restriction to the time spent online.
You see Teens are spending several hours looking at a screen instead of interacting with people face to face. According to the online article 6 negative effects of too much screen time Jeffrey Green Says "kids who spend too much time with electronics lack in normal social skills that are needed to help them develop into a well rounded adult." What this means is that children can become social outcasts and have trouble interacting with other people for the rest of their lives. Teens are too focused on their devices that they don’t interact with people physically and that can also lead to other problems besides lacking social skills.
Furthermore, teens are more vulnerable to fall into depression because of their time online. It’s a slippery slope. In the right hands teens can use the internet to their own benefit. Using a computer can improve their typing skills according to the online article 10 Great Things teens learn while "playing" online by Christy Matte. Teens can Also learn basic computer skills.
