Teenagers tend to spend six to seven hours a day on some form of media such as television, music, movies, magazines, the internet, and smart cell phones (Brown). Over time these forms of media have changed. Nowadays they all portray some sort of sexual manner. This has both positive and negative impacts on teens. If they don’t feel like they can talk to their parents they will talk to others. Others that might make them think what they see on television or the internet is okay. This makes communication very little between parents and their kids. Parents need to be more aware of what is going on in their child’s life especially at this age where sex is everywhere. They will not know any better if the parents aren’t warning them. I fell like parents need to make ware for their children to know the consequences of becoming sexually active for what they see online.
