My mom has raised seven children including me. She showed us to be honest and caring for one another. She told us to respect others they way we wanted to be respected and treat others the way we want to be treated. She taught us that in life we will have our ups and downs, that people might not accept us for who we are but she told us to be the young and intelligent person we are. She taught us that people should not like us for what they want us to be but they should love us for what who we are. According to social learning theory children tend to follow their parents behavior (Berger, 2014, P.28). My mom never behaved inappropriately in front of us. She always used words that were kind like when she wanted us to clean our rooms she would say please go clean your rooms. We never saw her mad she always had this big smile on her face that brightens the whole room when she walked in. I had my ups and downs and i didn’t know who to complain to my mom is the only person i have always spoken to she had always given me great advices. when i complained about homework she told me that i can do it! My mom always said take advantage of every learning experience that is available for you, because she said she didn’t had the opportunity to go to school. My mom is a funny person that everyone can get along with she loves to give advices if you ask. Now my teacher has been my role model and will always be!

Drug tests should be required for all athletes. Students should have to take a drug test because if players don’t then the team will be more likely to fail. If everyone on the team passes the test then the coach won’t have to worry about the scores going downhill because of drugs. If school athletes really want to play sports they will not do drugs. Doing drugs will ruin the opportunity to earn scholarships, jobs, or even having a life in the future.…

Today there is an immense stereotype that many people have against athletes. A big number of the population of the world believes that all athletes are rude, selfish, and self-centered. This belief started a long time ago when athletes began to show their passion more outward to the public. Now, many athletes are not thoughtful about their actions in front of everyone and deserve to be put in the bad category of what people think about them; however, this is not the case for some athletes. I believe that Athletes should be considered role models because when they sign up for their job they are saying that people can watch them play and consider them as role models. People think that athletes should not be considered role models and that your parents should be, but I think that athletes are role models in the ways parents aren't. When a kid wants to take interest in a sport that the parent doesn't know anything about then the parents can't be a role model for that reason, so then kids can watch the sport and make their favorite player their role model.…

I asked friends and family how they feel about death in our media and many said that they try and stay away from news channels due to the overwhelmingly sad information they tend to focus on. A few people said it made them feel very negative throughout their day if they chose to watch it in the morning, which I can understand. I was not surprised to find an article which stated that “much has been written about the effects of the media’s constant presence in virtually all homes in America” (Anastasio, Rose, & Chapman, 1999, p. 152). When something is reported in the media it spreads like a wildfire. When people are unaware of what is going on in the world, sometimes it is shocking to others who consistently stay up to date with the media.…

Hooligans, thugs and druggies are familiar words used to describe today’s professional athletes. There has been as survey conducted of 300 college students in an American University, indiana university and found that approximately 66% felt it is the social and moral responsibility of the athletes to serve as role models to young generations while approximately 30% believe that sport is merely a microcosm of society and consequently mirrors American culture.
