Obese people have added pressure on their body and can not provide insulin in the way it is needed. Insulin is need to control sugar and blood levels. High blood pressure also is a result of being obese. High blood pressure is something that can lead up to heart disease. The next health risk you can get from obesity is heart disease. Heart disease is any disorder that affects the heart, it is similar to cardiac disease. Obesity is a big cause of heart disease. Another health risk from obesity is sleep apnea. Sleep Apnea is when a person's breathing is interrupted during their sleep. When this happens sometimes the person's body and brain might not get enough oxygen. Obesity causes this by the soft tissue in the mouth stopping the air because there is so much tissue. The last health risk of obesity is strokes. There are many causes of strokes, but one of the main causes is obesity. Strokes are when brain cells die due to the lack of oxygen. When you have a stroke there may or not be: memory loss, loss of speech, weakness in the body, and paralysis on one side of the body. To prevent obesity you can have a healthy diet. To have a healthy diet you must eat healthy foods such as: fruits, vegetables, and whole grain foods. You must also avoid some kinds of foods such as: food high in energy density, sweet and sugary beverages, and food with high levels of fat and calories. You also can cut down on the portions of food you eat daily, and use a smaller plate. Another way to prevent obesity is to get the right amount of physical activity. It is more easier for teens to get physical activity than adults. Teenagers can join sports teams, and they have gym class.
