Teenage Murders Should Be Tried As Juveniles

Throughout history there has been various cases of teen murderers and because of this a debate has sparked. People should deeply consider whether teen murders should be charged as adults or they should be tried as juveniles. As people grow up, they are instilled with the knowledge that murder is a horrible and unforgivable act. We should not be giving teens a lighter sentence for a crime where extreme force and extensive planning is involved. Various times teens who have committed horrible and brutal murders often have little to no remorse about their crime.
Many of theses crime are committed by adolescents between ten through seventeen years of age. In 1997, a eleven year old by the name of Nathaniel Abraham brutally slaughtering seventeen year old Ronnie Green for no apparent reason but just for his amusement. At the age of eleven, Nathaniel was charged with 1st degree murder and sentenced to nine years in prison and released on January 2004. In a recent video, they were describing the changes that teens brain undergo during their growth. In the video The mysterious workings of the adolescent brain the speaker, Sarah Jayne Blakemore, stated that adolescent have a drastic change in their brains that correspond to the portion of their brain that controls their reasoning and decision making. The study has proven that any decisions teens make may be due to their dramatic brain change and they simply can not help and make the worst choices without thinking.
