Romeo and Juliet Brain Project Why do the teens in Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare make decisions that even they know will cause conflict? Not just them but why do any teenagers make decisions that will start conflict? There are pros and cons to the adolescent brain. Teens would hear voices in their head that would tell them right from wrong which has advantages and disadvantages. The teen would listen to what their brain is telling them and their brain would sometimes be telling them the wrong choice since it is not fully developed. How do the teens know what is right and wrong when the brain is telling what to do, it could be because the teens in Romeo and Juliet think that whatever their brain is telling them is right so that is the decision

In “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare, Sampson says a quote and action, “Nay as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them, which is a disgrace to them, if they bare it. (bits his thumb).” That leads to a brawl. Sampson and Gregory are teens in the play and are already causing consequences for their actions in the households. They are still teenagers and their brain is still developing so they choose choices in the story that leads to consequences.
