The characters in the show Noah and Saskia are represented well, as they show honest depictions of typical teenage behaviour, which the audience can relate to dramatically to as the intended viewers are supposed to be in that age range. They are non-binary, or non-black or white characters. This means that the characters have depth and are not just subject to either being completely good or bad. They have traits of both negative and positive characters and we can see this in their dialogue and the audio-visual features of the show.…

Firefly: The Best of both Worlds Popular culture introduces individuals to communities, heck it helps create communities. Think about the TV shows and the bands you like, you are drawn to others who also enjoy those things, right? Just like fables and fairytales, shows like Firefly, the Simpsons, Parks and Rec, or Avatar bring people together through common interests and viewings. TV shows and movies have created huge communities around them and have given people who are literally across the world a way to connect and engage with each other. And if that’s not beautiful then I don’t know what is!…

Most people think characters on television shows and in movies are just there to be funny or to actually make the story line move forward, but lots of people find themselves liking certain characters for many reasons. One possible reason is because these characters can be so relatable to the lives of the people that watch them. One character that I really relate to, is Leslie Knope from the television show Parks and Recreation. Leslie is a very strong female character and is not afraid to be herself. Leslie is intelligent, determined, cheerful, and oh so optimistic.…

Gender roles in the media influence society greatly. Media has the ability to portray genders in ways that they really do not act in real life and American society. When I think of my personality, I think of humor and a loving person who is hardworking. I really don't like being compared to people because I feel I am one-of-a-kind and don't believe anyone is like me. Despite when speaking of fictional characters who are most like me, I believe three come to mind these three characters represent me as a person in different ways. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Stitch from Lilo and Stitch for his hard working and outgoing personality, Roger for his wisdom and understanding, and Stewie for his intelligence and humor but also caring for his family.…
