Teen Suicide

Tyler Clementi was an 18 year old freshman in college who hasn’t come out as openly gay. He shared a room with another student who had linked the camera of a laptop in their room to another laptop in another room, enabling him to spy on Tyler when he was in the room alone. One night Tyler had asked for the room alone until midnight and the roommate agreed. With the computer that was connected to the camera of the laptop in their room he saw Tyler having an intimate moment with another man and connected the live stream on Twitter for his followers to see, Once Tyler saw what his roommate had done he simply posted “Jumping off GW Bridge sorry.” On Facebook, and with that he took his life. Teen suicide has become more prevalent throughout the years. With teens feeling hopeless, lost, scared, and worthless they turn to suicide because they feel like as if there’s no other way out. If we were to get informed about the warning signs, causes, and maybe some facts about it, then together we can all work to prevent more teens from taking their lives. …show more content…
These may include not showing interest in what that person once loved, not caring about the consequence of their actions, and not talking to anyone anymore or not showing interest in talking or communicating with anyone. Even though some people show these signs, others may not. Some teens who are suicidal and/or have suicidal thoughts may act like they are perfectly fine and don’t show any signs at all.
