Teen Plastic Surgery: My Body, My Decisions! If I could change anything about myself physically, I would've done it years ago. I remember throughout my elementary and middle school years I’ve always been bullied about how big my nose was and the dark line I have across from it. It’s always and still is something I would change about myself by getting plastic surgery. Not only to stop myself from being bullied, but to feel much better about myself and how I look. I know there are many more teenagers that are going through the same struggle and wants it to all stop. Teenagers should be able to get plastic surgery to enhance their body image so it can get rid of insecurities, increase their self-esteem , and stop them from being bullied. (Dennis) Renata was being bullied at school because of her looks. She felt terrible about how she looked and didn’t want to go to school. It leads her to not even wanting to get out the house because it had got so bad. This then made Renata and her mother contact the Little Baby Face Foundation, which is a foundation that provides free facial surgery for children that was born with facial deformities as well as cosmetic surgery for children who feel they do not meet normative standards of beauty. “She hadn’t been in school for 2 years because she was being bullied,” said Dr. Romo, the plastic surgeon of Renata. Dr. Romo says he has had many patients known for being bullied because of their appearance. So with a situation like this, Dr. Romo has experienced before. Luckily after the Little Baby Face Foundation helped Renata with her surgery, she went back to school and had no one pick on her any longer. She said she haven’t had any problems after surgery and no one is saying anything negative about her. “The whole thing has been better.” said
