Drinking and driving is still affecting teens today. Teens are beginning to go through stages where stress is very common and self-control is very low. Drinking and Driving is effective because getting alcohol is very simple in today’s time, troubling issues at home are causing stress, and believing that one can drive sober when they are not is dangerous. Getting alcohol is very simple this day in time. “Teens can get it from their parent’s liquor cabinet” (Alcohol Addiction). Sometimes parent’s will even buy it for them. To parents the idea of drinking at home is better and more safer than drinking outside of their home. “Brothers or sisters are willing to buy it for their underage siblings and their friends” (Alcohol Addiction). Teens even have access to get fake IDS. Most adults or even teens will make money off of selling these fake IDS. It should not be this easy to get alcohol. Issues at home are causing stress. “When a teen feels she has no one who will understand her problems, she may turn to alcohol to make her feel better”( Alcohol Addiction). While adults are more likely to drive while intoxicated, the younger, less experienced drivers are more likely to end up dead. Although, teens behind the wheel causes more deaths throughout the world. It is easier for younger teens to be influenced by alcohol rather than older experienced adults.“Because it is illegal for teenagers to drink alcohol they can be cited for underage drinking, even if they're not drunk” (Snyder).
