Imagine this one day you're at at the store and you see someone taking something they didn't pay for and putting it in there pockets. If this was to happen to me i would have told an employee about it and let them handle it. I firmly believe that lying is unacceptable in our society.
Lying is never allowable because it makes a person less of a human being. For example, In the article Rejecting All Lies Immanuel Kant it quotes, ‘’ A lie even if it does not any particular individual, always hurts mankind individual.’’(4) What i mean by this is that even though it doesn't harm anyone in general it hurts yourself making you feel less about yourself. This connects to my argument because the quote describes how lying can make you feel like someone that's less because you shouldn't have lied. In addition, another quote i found was in article 2

For example in the article, Teen Do Their Share Of Lying it quotes,” The worst thing i could do is to have her find out about lies i told when i was she would never trust me again,’’(8) Another way to say this is if her mom found out about her lies she has told her mom her mom would be able to trust her which can ruin her relationship with her mom. To put it in another way would be saying if her mom found out she trust in her daughter would slowly disappear. She wouldn't trust her with anything important because she may think she will lie about it. In addition another quote i found was in the article “Blad Blaton: honestly tell the truth it quotes, ‘’but lying is stressful and hurts relationships.” (5). Another way to say this would be to say this would be to say that lying hurts relationships it can ruin couples, friend,or adults relationships with each other. To put this another way would be to say that's why lie if it can hurt you, someone, or even relationships. When sometimes lying isn't even worth it. In conclusion i personality thing lying hurts relationships

But they never take in consideration as to why people may have lied. They automatically get hurt the moment they know they were told lies. Because they already have a mindset that lying is bad, and they associate bad feelings with lying.…

Is it ok to lie in any situation, or is it just wrong to lie at all ? In four articles that I read, it states a couple of things, for example, they talk about lying and if it's bad, is lying sometimes good, and is lying good. I believe lying is only good sometimes and it should only be used in white lies. I think a good time to lie is when you protect someone. One scenario of this is the story of Ann Frank.this is a good example because they were protecting Ann and her family by saying that there was nothing upstairs.…

In the essay The Ways We Lie by Stephanie Ericsson, she mentions on how she discovered that telling the truth all the time is nearly impossible because it would be living with some serious consequences. Throughout the history of the United States and other parts of the world, a high percentage of people tend to not be able to tell the truth when they are asked simple questions by members of their family or by their close friends. As telling the truth may have consequences, telling lies may have deeper consequences that cannot only hurt the person telling the lie, but it can affect the person being lied to. Ericsson goes into great detail of about 10 of them, but there are many more. Some lies are for your peace of mind and maybe still bad for both parties, and some are for the better of someone else’s feelings. Ericsson believes that even if you feel you are perfect, nobody is and still tell lies no matter big or small, we do it and at times are unaware that it is considered a lie. Individuals nowadays get to a point where they are lying and don’t know whether to believe themselves or others.…

For example, if there is a person who does not like conflict, he or she may tell a lie to fix the problem (Ford 98-99). People will also lie to other people by leaving out less desirable information that might hurt the other person emotionally. Lisa Firestone wrote “Even lies told in the name of protecting others can leave you feeling pretty bad about yourself, because you don’t feel like an authentic, strong individual when you aren’t being honest” (Firestone). The most common reason that lies by omission are told is to prevent unpleasant situations from occurring, even if it causes one to feel guilty (Firestone). People who have a big heart or cannot stand the thought of hurting someone or embarrassing them typically will lie to the other person by leaving out the more displeasing details.…

If you lose how close you are to a person because you told the truth, then they don’t accept the real you, that or it was your fault you messed up.
