There are many negative effects when it comes to body image, including, dangerous surgery, self-harm, and yo-yo dieting. Plastic Surgery is a very dangerous surgery, which is the process of reconstructing the body, especially by the transfer of tissue, either in the treatment or for cosmetic reasons. According to Jenna Goudreau, from forbes.com, “Any time you tamper with the body’s balance–next to your plumped lips, your nose now looks off–you risk creating new problem areas.” Possible complications for any surgery include: anesthesia related issues, including, pneumonia, and blood clots, and rarely death. Also infection at the incision site, which may worsen scarring cent and require additional surgery.
