Maturity is often gained through experiences and understanding, rather than seniority. Although being older does offer more time for enlightening experiences, this does not fully cancel out possibilities of younger individuals being exposed to the same instances in a shorter time.…

Adolescence: it’s a period of turmoil, no doubt about it. Young adults are discovering the physical changes that accompany adulthood, constantly fighting off emotional waves of hormones, and generally experiencing puberty in all its glory. However, as intense as these pubertal changes may be, the chaos of adolescence is nothing without the fact that young adults are beginning to drastically change the way they view the world. People who are mature are respected, as is seen in the hierarchy of high school grade levels. For example, when a senior visits a freshman class, they may witness less-than-mature behavior that now they know it is not the right kind of behavior. However, these seniors remember they, too, were once those immature freshmen. This brings high school seniors toward a greater sense of understanding for maturity, as evaluating the progress made over the span of four years creates a feeling of accomplishment. As such, being mature means more than just being able to live and act like an adult, but also being able to fully analyze the differences between the meaning of immaturity and maturity.…
