Teen-age love that started awkwardly. It was 2014 when I started hearing stories about this book. Eleanor and Park. A Rainbow Rowell novel that transports us to a different time. Both of teen-ager thought that they were different from everyone, like they do not fit. Eleanor having a broken family, and a monster stepdad which her mom has feared to lose. Park, has this problem with his Dad. And then, their existence has cross the path, 1986 on a high school bus in Omaha, where Park, six-teen year old, half-Korean, taekwondo student, was forced to let the new girl sit with him – Eleanor. But, she is not just a normal girl. She is huge, red headed, Danish-Scottish girl with a weird sense of fashion. – on the way to school. Though, Eleanor does …show more content…
We form an opinion and then take that opinion as fact. Park thinks that Eleanor wears unusual clothing because she wants to stand out, but in reality, it’s because she cannot afford to buy new clothes and has to patch up her old ones. We assume, but we don’t even ask. Eleanor seems melancholy most of the time, but Park notices how she lights up when talking about something she’s passionate about, like the comic books and music he lends her, not unlike the enthusiasm we see in Fangirl. I loved that Eleanor & Park shows how much an interest or hobby, no matter how silly or trivial it seems to other people, can make a real difference to someone’s life. So Eleanor & Park is about the romance, yes, but it’s also about pushing through life, just trying to make it better in any possible way you can.” – …show more content…
That it was not as beautiful as how you think it is. Very complicated.
He’d stopped trying to bring her back.
She only came back when she felt like it, in dreams and lies and broken-down dejavu.
This is the saddest part. How you truly love someone but then, you got tired. You got tired of trying and pushing and striving so hard to bring back every broken pieces of memories you had. Still, that someone has a large space occupying your heart. That when he or she came back, you’ll always, always accept them all over

Eleanor and Park is a beautiful love story about two people who feel alone and misunderstood joining together in a world that ignores their situation. Many of the characters have reasons for not telling others about the problems they are facing; like psychological disorders, and current gender roles which are strengthened by a realistic portrayal. Throughout Eleanor and Park, by Rainbow Rowell, every character faces a conflict that many individuals struggle with today, however, as shown repeatedly, many very important parts of the book are ignored until they can no longer be denied, simply because they are ugly. Many characters in Eleanor and Park deal with psychological issues that prevent them from telling others about the problems…
