Some teen activists are wise about their choices. Malala Yousafzai a 15-year-old from Pakistan. She is a teen activist for girl's education, she wants every child to have an education especially girls. According to Scholastic when Malala's school was shut down she and her friends kept going when 60% of the girls didn’t attend. She hid her school books under her clothes to not be caught by the Taliban (An extremist Islamic group that follows a different way of Islam) (Lewis 7. For example, Alex Lin is a 16 year old E-waste teen activist from Rhode Island. He started his fight against E-waste when he was in the 5th grade, he read a article in the Wall Street Journal. One article states that Alex learned that there was a bill against E-waste in Rhode Island, Alex wanted to pass it, but after his teams hard work the bill did not pass. Alex states “It was simple: ban E-waste dumping”(Cardoni 3). This shows that Alex if focused because, he wanted to fully ban E-waste dumping not just reduce it he wanted people to understand that E-waste is a bad thing. Another reason is that Alex didn’t want to just stop in Rhode Island he and his team refurbished computers and sent them to 3rd world countries to make media centers in schools(Cardoni 4).
