Teen Activists Essay

Activists are people who participate, stand up, or bring about a social change. They also stand up for what they think is right. Teen activists are important because they make changes in order to make today’s society better. Teen activists are important because they recognize issues that effect their community and the world. They raise awareness by getting their friends and other adults to help support their cause. It takes more than one person to make a change, but you only need one person to think of the idea. Getting shot by the Taliban did not stop Malala from striving to achieve her goals. She courageouosly stood up to them by continuing to speak up for the right to be educated. The Taliban even bombed several schools but that only made Malala want to continously speak out. She established the Malala Fund to ensure that her message was being heard by as many people as possible. Because of Malala, more efforts are being made to help all women and children receive an education. Her passion can be heard in her speeches. She states, "I started writing my own speeches and changing the way I delivered them, from my heart rather than from a sheet of paper." Interviewing on many new outlets taught Malala that there is more to speaking than just reading off a piece of paper. Speaking with emotion will bring her personal experiences to life and have a greater impact on her listeners.
