First, certainty versus uncertainty, is a big role in my world. Having been prior active duty, there was a lot of certainty within the office, but a lot of uncertainty in the field. I knew what my people were doing, how they were doing it, and if it was getting done correctly. In the field, I had to do it all not knowing what the enemy was doing or if I was going to get ambushed at any point in time. With that being said, I became very uncertain about a lot of things, to include my life. I had to relearn that bad things were going to happen and there was nothing I could do to stop it, especially in the field. I had to take the chances afforded to me and experience the culture of the deployed locations and pray that I would live to see another day. While I am still scared of the uncertain, and due to conditions associated with the uncertain, I have tried to become a more prominent member of society and do what I can within my means and reason. I like to have a variety of experiences in life. I want to be able to experience all those wonderful feelings with my family and future career. I like being able to look forward, instead of behind me, and seeing the light at the end of this particular journey. While I do not know how it will end, I can anticipate that I will succeed in my educational journey and looking for a new career. When that happens, another journey will begin for me and I will, hopefully, have the same positive anticipation for that journey, whatever it might
