Dylan Nicol Prompt 4 Impossible Perfection Emerson wrote, “Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow”. Emerson is correct in saying this because doing the same thing will create the same results, there is always room for improvement and one needs to try new things to succeed. To start off, if one continues to do the same thing, he will never see anything except the same results. If a designer creates a product that fails to work, he needs to change something to achieve success. If he doesn’t change the product and creates an exact replica, the product will continue to fail.…

College in the 21th century should have general version of majors, and when a person gets their masters or PHD when they get more specific. But there are different opinions from Liz Coleman a speaker on a TED Talk video, Walter Kirn a personal story of his journey for knowledge and Aristotle giving the reader three Rhetorical Appeals and Minerva a new age college, as well as mission statements from different colleges. The way Liz Coleman summarizes her argument is that she wants a broader college experience less specific majors and more of a renaissance man ideal. Walter Kirn tells us his story about how he went to the top colleges and university but he learned nothing and then later it clicked for him, that all the topics he was taught had…

In Bryan Stevenson’s Ted talk he addresses the issues and injustices in the criminal justice system. The first main point that Stevenson makes is that there is a large degree of disconnect between what happens in the criminal justice system and communities of poverty, and what happens in those of affluent or middle class wealth. He illustrates that the train of thought is often, “that’s not our burden” when concerning issues of mass incarceration and poverty. He explains that we must be engaged with the issues of the poor and the suffering to fully evolve as a civilization. This disconnect is made clear when Stevenson compares the attitude of Germany to that of the United States on the topic of the death penalty.…

The second Ted Talk I watched was called “Street art with a message of hope and peace” by eL Seed.…

Most of us seek happiness in all the wrong places. Trying to fill our lives with superficial happiness and instant gratification instead of valuing life as it is. The fact that most of us wake up in the morning being gifted with another day of life, is at times taken for granted. When I began looking for a Ted talk, I had no idea of what I was looking for. However, I found one in particular, and it managed to make a significant impact on my perception of happiness.…
