Ted Kaczynski Ted Kaczynski was a pro-nature terrorist using extreme methods to spread his message to the masses. His methods involved a series of bombings spanning almost two decades, his main goal was to spread his message, which he eventually did with a book he wrote called “Industrial Society and Its Future.” Seventeen years and fifty million dollars later, the FBI found Ted Kaczynski in a shed with live letter bombs, journals, homemade guns, and abandoned car parts he used to make bombs with. Some view his actions in an almost cult-like fashion, but in the interview conducted three years into Ted Kaczynski's incarceration, he stated he would just like to be a figurehead or symbol rather than a leader or deity.

One night, Ted was showing signs of a fever and a rash, so his parents brought him to a hospital. He was kept in the hospital for a week and his parents noticed a strange change in his behavior after his visit. The once cheerful toddler became reclusive and quiet. He had difficulty showing signs of trust and had difficulty keeping eye contact with his parents. Some people believe that this traumatic incident in his childhood is why or at least a factor in his future actions as it may have developed psychological issues from the time away from his parents. Early academic career Afterward, Ted Kaczynski attended Sherman Elementary in Chicago from ages six to nine and was described as well-adjusted. He skipped the sixth grade and was moved to Evergreen Park Community High School. Ted Kaczynski was described as highly intelligent and socially awkward during high school. He excelled greatly in mathematics and would spend hours of his time solving math problems by himself and was even in a club known as the Briefcase Boys for the signature briefcases they carried with them. He was undeniably a prodigy in what he loved; however, he did struggle socially and was often isolated from his peers for his young age and antisocial behavior.
