An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away? The Apple Protection Continues Loyalty is an honorable quality. Children are raised to be loyal, honest, and truthful. If we are lucky, children with those qualities grow up to be respectful businessmen and women. Ted Cook may be in a line of fire with the FBI but he has proven himself to be a respectful CEO in the process. Cook has gained some enemies this week with his recent decision to honor the privacy and security of the Apple name and the Apple customers and not crack into the iPhone of Syed Farook. This is a security issue that is more complex than most consumers understand and has various extremes of repercussions. On a simple scale this case isn’t much different than the others. Violence …show more content…
Not only is there no way to guarantee control for the FBI to unlock only the iPhones involved in Farook’s case, but since when is one dead body more important than the ones in the past? Sure, some mass murders draw more attention than others, but that means next to nothing to the mother who mourns the loss of her son who was killed in a drive by shooting. Apple is lucky that Cook realizes the responsibility of his role and continues to act in a way that is honorable and fair. Cook realizes the repercussions of his actions and has remained true to the best interests of his company, his customers, and those who are mourning their own losses. To some it may not appear that Cook is doing enough but he has ensured that Apple has provided all of the information about the iPhone that they have available. This situation is likely to become more complicated and it is an honor to have Cook entrusted with this responsibility. He knows what he is doing and does the best to look out for everyone.

Apple, Microsoft and IBM have all experienced highs and lows in reputation but the as the survey suggests, the iPhone maker has been most successful in reestablishing itself at the top of the tree. I think one of the key factors of Apple Inc. ’s success is company’s clarity about its purpose and ability to communicate it to customers (Solomon, 2012). Every time I go to Apple store I always admire company’s efforts to anticipate customer needs. In today’s generation cell phones are now like pocket computers that are overloaded with immense amounts of private information. The material stored in cell phones cannot be compared to other routine items, like wallets, that are usually seized during an arrest. If the arresting officer really felt the need to search the contents of the cell phone, then a “police officer can e-mail warrant request to judges […] [and] judges have signed such warrants and e-mailed them back to officers in less than 15 minutes”. Consequently, the evidence obtained from Riley’s smart phone is in violation of his Fourth Amendment…

Recently there was an investigation in the FBI that needed information from an IPhone, which is a product of Apple, because they believed it held information that could help understand why they did it and if there was going to be another attack. On the other hand, the company always claimed to be a product of the people and a trustworthy provider. Cook realized that there may be people’s lives at stake; whether it be an attack like 9/11 or an attack like Riverside or even one with “only” one casualty, there was a presence of national endangerment.…
