For anything to get accomplish that effects the community there has to be unity within the community. One person cannot accomplish anything that effects the community on their own they need the support of others. When Tecumseh decided to take his homeland from the American colonist he didn’t dare try to do it on his own. He knew he needed the help of other Indigenous people to make this dream a reality. With the help of his brother, other Indigenous people and the British he almost made his dream came true. It was destined to happen until the British decided they no longer wanted Tecumseh. His brother Tenskwatawa ends up becoming a prophet whose rebirth speeches end bringing Indigenous tribes from all over to their village. Tecumseh sees this as an opportunity to try and get the different tribes to unite. By all the tribes uniting it will make is easier for Tecusmeh to get the land back from the Americans. Americans knew that if all the tribes unified they would become a “force to be reckon with” (Calloway pg. 272). After the American Revolution the Americans would sign treaties with tribes that were divided (Calloway pg. 283). By doing so they were able to get the land easier and cause more problems between the tribes (Calloway pg.283).
