Being a high school student, I know what it is like to be outside of the loop. Now with the advanced technology, it is very hard for any information to not become public for all. Walking down the halls most people are on their phones and no longer conversing with the people around them. People have even become good at walking with their phones in their faces without falling or tripping over someone else. Technology never used to be a problem, but now it is one of the biggest problems taking over our lives. Technology used to be a phone shared by the whole street and has now become a portable phone for each individual person to have in his or her pocket. Technology use to be a box, which you had to be very careful to not disturb it before it was done processing, and now technology is a portable camera with a screen to view your picture and if you happen to disturb it the worst that is going to happen is a blurry picture. Cyber bullying has skyrocketed since technology has advanced. People feel that they have more power behind their screen versus being face to face with a person. Teen Safe has reported that Thirty percent of children who are cyber bullied have suicidal thoughts, which have gone up six percent since 2013, and ten percent of those children have attempted to take their lives. One in three kids feel they are more accepted on social media than in the life they are living and seventy percent of children bullied feel it has impacted their social lives negatively. Not only do a lot of kids get bullied on social media, but also twenty-four percent of kids say they would not know what to do if they were being cyber bullied.
