In today’s information based environment, organizations are investing more and more to become digitalized, as it is expected to improve performance, reduce cost, increase production, and bring innovation in a given organization. Additionally, the rapidly changing technology demands and increasing consumerism, has further revolutionized the current business infrastructure. Furthermore, over the past decade or so, with the readily available Internet services, social media has become a booming field of interest for most organizations. Therefore, to meet all these changing demands and culture, one such strategy that has recently gained momentum, and will serve as an influential asset for International Food Group (IFG)

For instance, it helps linking a potential product to the organization’s business strategy, analyzes the current marketing business, and breakdowns the cost needed for the technologies to achieve a strategic objective (Albright & Kappel, 2003). Furthermore, technology roadmaps help in attaining a viable technology planning by identifying the needs, gaps, strengths, and weaknesses in a common language across the organization (Ming-Ling & Shaw, 2005). In other words, technology roadmaps are a multilayered process, which is composed of seven main elements as per Mckeen and Smith (2012), which are guiding principles, access current technology, analyze gaps, evaluate technology landscape, describe future technology, outline migration strategy, and establish …show more content…
Furthermore, today’s web 2.0 based websites have enabled a two-way communication between its consumers and supplier, which has become an effective marketing strategy (Fan, Zhang, Dang, & Chen, 2013). However, in order to fully incorporate such interactive marketing techniques into the current IFG website, first of all requires a proper planning structure that could help guiding the organization (McKeen & Smith, 2012).
Therefore, before making any concrete investments towards innovative marketing strategies, it is essential to create a detailed list often referred as the guiding principles that can provide proper direction to the social media initiative (McKeen & Smith, 2012). Some of these principles, include having an estimated budget to work with, who will be the role players for the task, set an estimated timeframe with deadlines, establish the potential expectations from the investment, provide particular standards to abide, and the targeted audience, which in this case will be the youth population (McKeen & Smith, 2012).
