Imagine a world where all the children actually used their electronic devices for educational purposes. The kid runs home from school like a track runner in the Olympics and picks up his or her iPad and proceeds to play educational math or reading games. That scenario sounds great, but is not something you hear of a child doing on a regular basis which is why that will never happen. Some may argue that the parents should monitor if the child is actually using it for learning purposes, while others may say the child should be able to play whatever games they want since the schools make them use the computers for educational purposes only. Honestly, no matter how many learning programs and games are made children will never spend their time engaging in those activities all day. So really, is this new technology helping the younger generation like it intends to do or is it making them suffer with learning, social interactions, and other disadvantages. At school it is a must that a kid stays on the educational websites and does not veer off onto other sites. So I can see why some may say to give children a break once they come from school and not force education down their throats every single second. Then again, I …show more content…
Their is no doubt that technology advancements have its benefits. Some of them are in science, education, and the medical field. To some it may be more positive contributions, but to others it may seem as more negative than positive. I agree that technology could possibly help but only if used effectively. Therefore, in my opinion, technology is not helping younger children. The cons of technology outweigh the pros which is why I came to this conclusion. Maybe as the years go by the generations will start evolving with the use of technology and using it the right way. Then instead of hindering the children’s development it will start to help and improve their learning
