What stopped you from dropping a dime in the coin slot at the corner telephone booth? Did you read the love letter from your girlfriend? The form of writing romantic letters has almost become a thing of the past. The reality, most of us have not visit the U.S. Post office since the price for a stamp was 45¢. The art of casual conversation, a cup of java or tea in the morning has taken a new direction. We are left with little in common between coworkers, friend and family for lack to talk with one another. Increase the work productivity ratio and decrease our ability to speak and write proper English. No doubt, this increases our social networking relationships. New technology is always evolving along with new communication methods such as Instant messaging. As we convert to the new technology and rely on devices such as iPhones that have replaced our land line telephone. Therefore,we can talk any time and decrease our costs. We will become more reliable increasingly connected to new technology change in language and consumer orientated. We can see an increase of people’s paradigm shift and quickly adapting our lives. “We comment on newspapers and magazine articles, posts are reviews of books and other products online and bombard our friends and acquaintances with status updates on Facebook” (Rosen 232). Through technology we can filter and edit our language and even change the language types. This will better manager our time and activities. “Revolutionizing reading also didn 't offer the script control over our time.) (Rosen 233) This can keep us ahead of the game in competition for jobs and marketability. The easy to use shorthand text symbols, abbreviated words and unknown slang’s that replace . Many use like the convenience of a cell phone anytime, writing an instant message, texting shorthand messages, electronic books/library, posting photos, virtual games such as solitary or chess. This new technology has improves our socialization with a larger number of people and becoming more of our social livelihood. For example, a face-to-face connection afforded people time to connect with friends and family to develop lifelong friendships. The new technology has replaced our human connection for face-to-face experience only to be replaced by webcam. Although, texting is convenient for staying connected in a relationship. Without non-verbal signals, messages can be misconstrued, leading to uncertainty and anxiety.
