Once one person calls you out for being ugly in the comment section of a picture, more people will join along. Sometimes these people will be your friends. Whenever someone is online, they will be more likely to say something that they might regret or not think over then they would be in person. For example, an individual may be more likely to say someone is ugly or fat online where they believe they are talking to only one person, than to call someone ugly or fat in public. In a public environment we are very aware that there are many people around us. Even though there are even more people online, we do not notice the people, so we express our opinions or thoughts more freely. Insulting a friend online will provoke them to insult you back as they do not feel restricted on what they say to you. This may lead into a major argument that would have never happened if the two friends were next to each other in person. Even though it is true that we can learn more about people online because they are more open, the fact that we get into arguments online will ruin friendships more than it builds

I am confident that I am not the only kid who got a speech from his parents, reminiscing and lamenting about the “good ole’ days” when they were kids. During the “good ole’ days” if adolescents wanted to connect with each other, they actually had to walk to another friend’s house and knock on the door. Long gone are the days of parents fearfully waiting for their child to get home from a party, long after curfew. Although it can be helpful in setting reminders and helping us connect with friends and family members around the world, it can also be problematic. Over the years an increased amount of different technological advancements has allowed us to be able to communicate without geographical boundaries, and almost instantly. All these different ways to communicate with others are not necessarily better than speaking face to face with someone. A Generation Who Has Become Slaves of Technology When I was little, I used to play with marbles, dirt, and hide and seek. Now I see a generation who has submerged into what is called technology. Children cannot live without I pads, teenagers cannot be without texting or chatting, even when they are in class, and many adults have become unproductive at their workplace due to the addiction of the usage of their cellphones. I have seen families who rarely have a conversation while having a family meal because at least one of the family members is either texting, chatting on Facebook, or twitting.…
