What are your position regarding technology and the future of society?
Technology is and will continue to impact, change, and transform society in many different ways both good and bad and I think it will continue to do so in the future. I think in the future technology will help us to solve many problems in society but it also might create new problems. It all depends on the creator of the technology and the user that uses it.
I am both optimistic and pessimistic about the future. I am optimistic as I think of how we will improve and develop the quality of life, health, etc. through advances in science and technology. It will be either because those two worlds cannot exist. There is no such thing as a world that is perfect (utopia) nor is there such a thing as a world in which everything is imperfect (dystopia).
Discuss some the effects of technology on human society in terms of economic (jobs, economic productivity, leisure, unemployment, wages, economic inequality, etc)?
Some of the positive effects of technology on human society in terms of economic include making sellers and buyers transactions, paying bills, buying items, and banking and online investment easier and faster (Regoniel, Patrick. 2012). Some the other positive effects of technology on human society in terms of economic also include increase economic development, creating jobs, increase salaries, increase services and products, increase productivity, and increase research and development (Sarewitz 1996, 287) (Kvochko, Elena. 2013).
Progress in science and technology has led to an increase in efficiency of energy and material use, production of food, productivity of manufacturing, and increase in infrastructure (UK Essays.2017)(Kvochko, Elena. 2013). Some of the negative effects of technology on human society in terms of economic include identity theft, viruses, and hacking (Nguyen, Lien. …show more content…
