Well, can an average student have too much technology in a classroom setting? According to Susan Pinker from New York Times, she believes that students that gain of more technology in a classroom takes a regular student and decreases their focus. Which then leads to the decline in test scores. But I do disagree with Pinker because technology has an untapped potential in the world of education. If the teacher is trained well with the technology, I think technology can improve a classroom because it can be used as a great tool to teach kids in a more modern way. We went from computers the size of a classroom to a supercomputer small enough to fit in your pocket. Every day the world of technology and the world of education grows closer. As pinker argues that it declines student progression, I would say if taught in the right manner, it can rapidly increase the progression and even surpass the original potential of one student. Technology if used right, can be the greatest resource to any student within any age. If you see in a college environment technology is used heavily due to the great advantages of having those resources. At a younger age, it is easier to mess around and wonder off in the vast world of the internet. But many teachers do not know how to set limits for their students and truly use these great resources for their true meaning and not as some toy at home. The underlying problem here is that teachers are not taught to use the new and upcoming technology that is produced. Many new inventions and technologies come out each year and if the world of technology and the world of education can come together and work hand in hand, the possibilities are endless. The right step in going towards getting internet and equipment for classrooms is getting the public’s attention to this. The development of applications for students are already being created and making student life in school more interactive with technology. But, that is not enough for a
