When texting a friend a person uses lingo such as lol, omg, brb (laughing out loud, oh my gosh, and be right back), however, someone is typing a college paper about diseases and he or she cannot be using such abbrieviations if the student desires an exceptional grade on the paper. According to Michaela Cullington, “teacher’s say their students are are forgetting punctuation…” (363). The writing skills are unimpressive because the student is relying on spell check and auto correct on devices. Teachers are starting to worry about students lacking the writing skills and wondering if the problem will become permanent with attractions to texting every day (363). There has to be an invisible switch for using texting lingo or else bad habits may stick.
Furthermore, Technology adjusts how people speak, write, and now even learn.
