Technology is developing and growing over the years in our society into new and improved resources. Schools originally started to only use the common chalkboard, whiteboard, or a projector screen to introduce and develop all of the content throughout the curriculum. If students were lucky they got to come up to the board to practice problems in front of the class, but besides that, the educator just usually takes notes on the board for the students to copy down in their notebooks. As years went on, schools started to implement devices such as Smartboards and laptops into the classroom, which gave the students an opportunity to have a more hands on and interactive experience while being engaged with the content. Currently, if students need some …show more content…
It creates a learning environment that is much more interactive and useful for the students to retain all of this new information they are being told. However, Milicevic also points out that having the ability of using these new devices gives the students access of just retaining useless information that does not matter or is not a true resource to follow. Having all of these new devices and resources for the students is also forming an environment where educators are not needed as much because all of this new learning is mainly run by peers and on their own. The technology is also preventing students from being able to interact in a physical learning environment rather than just learning on an online space on your …show more content…
Students tend to be able to focus and participate a lot more throughout the entire day when they are given the opportunity to use any sort of technological device to practice their skills rather than just a pencil and piece of paper to do their work. Having all of these new resources in the classroom is a huge advantage for students because they are much more interactive to learn on so the content is easily remembered rather than just being told all of the new information. These devices create such an enhanced learning environment as well by giving students an opportunity to share information with each other and to be able to discover these new ideas on their own and then being able to analyze and synthesize all of the new content on their own and at their own

We use it for our iPads, laptops, and programs. These things assist us in completing research, lessons, and creating documents or presentations. Our schools have become so dependent on technology, the Internet, and Wifi, that without it, we would be totally lost. Wifi is important to me personally because with having to execute multiple projects in a short span of time, I would take much longer if I had to incorporate the time spent checking out books from a library or searching in encyclopedias. In my opinion online research is the easiest, most efficient way to…

Students feel it is better to have different forms of technology to do their homework and to have resources at the tip of their fingers. Schools often have Smart-boards, IPads, laptops, and e-books to help students with their homework and research topics. Technology gives students ideas for their projects and assignments to help them out, which is a good and effective tool to have. Yet, technology can be distracting for students, simply because of the fact people can access social media and games. Also phones have become a distraction and students can get caught texting rather than paying attention to a lesson.…

The methods of learning have changed over thirty years ago. Technology has made a significant impact on how teachers teach. Teachers and students would be teaching and learning from words on a chalk board. Now, today, smartboards are used to help teach a classroom of students. Being a student myself, I hear on a regular basis, teachers telling the class that they didn’t grow up with the digital gadgets we young kids had since we were born.…

Because students have grown up with technology and use it in their daily lives, it would make sense for schools to start using them as learning aids, rather than books. "Small business owners are now more dependent than ever on technology for growth since their customers and employees are so geographically dispersed,"Although some parents say that they would rather have their children learn from books like they used, our world is changing and electronics in the classroom would be more beneficial. Although some say that it is muscle memory which is why the teachers give notes, 80 percent of the time, the notes will get lost. If students used technology instead of books, the notes would not be able to get lost because the notes would be on their electronics. In addition, it would help if high school was like college in these types of situations.…

This is a great thing for students because it keeps them organized and tidy. For example, teachers put grades and assign the homework on School Loop. Having technology to help students learn is helpful because it is a fast and easy way to look up information. Also students can help each other by texting if they don’t know how to do the assignment. Another reason why technology should not be stopped at school is because if the teachers are not prepared a week in advance, the students would not have a good time rushing to write all their homework and assignments down.…

Student engagement is an important concept in learning. It refers to attention and interest in what is being taught (Strong, Silver, & Robinson, 1995). It increases academic achievement and active learning (Strong, Silver, & Robinson, 1995), Students must be motivated to learn in order to be engaged. Without motivation, students will be disengaged meaning they will lack interest in the class and will not be motivated to complete tasks that are imperative for learning (Strong, Silver, & Robinson, 1995). According to Taylor & Parsons (2011), high school students who are disengaged are more likely to drop out which makes it imperative that students at an early age are kept motivated to learn and interested in what they are learning.…

The problem, today, is that with the technology the students have a toy in front of them which is taking their concentration away from the teacher and to the device that they have. The teacher should be the main focus in the room, not the computer or whatever they have. They are even losing focus on what the assignment is.…

There are many benefits to incorporating technology into your classroom but there is also benefits to being able to read about a subject from a textbook. Technology does play an important role however, and should be incorporated accordingly. Teachers can use something as simple as a projector to show a worksheet, or they can use a smart board to foster interactive learning in their classroom. This technology allows the students to engage with the lesson more than just reading out of a textbook or listening to a teacher. However, I believe that this technology is best used for the various activities in the classroom that happen after the teacher has taught the main part of the content from a…
