Technology is advancing and many classrooms want to use it to engage their students and make classes more enjoyable, but is technology really capable of that. There are many factors in deciding if technology is worth it. Where schools and universities get the money should be of big concern. The upkeep that the technology needs can be a hindrance. The internet needs to be regulated, but that is not always done to the students advantage. Teachers do not always know how to effectively use the new technology. Technology can actually become a distraction. Students can look up answers much easier and essentially cheat.

While it is more recent, there is no information on the author, making the source unreliable. One of the advantages that the article listed is that it is easier to access information now; which can be viewed as it is easier for students to look up answers. This supports the portion of my claim where it is easier for students to cheat. If a more reliable source is found containing similar information that source can be used in the final paper.
Badman, Lee. “iPads In The Classroom: Worth Doing Right." Informationweek. 24 June 2013. Web. 2 November 2015.
Badman goes over the pros and hurdles of iPads in the classroom. The article brings up the fact that some teachers do not know how to use the technology. It is a commentary and most of the article is Badman’s point of view. Badman has extensive experience in the tech world. He brings up many good points, but does not have a lot of evidence. This article, while not being completely reliable, brings up the fact that some teachers do not know how to effectively use technology, or use it at all; which can be used as a support in the final paper to back up the claim.

While most of the problems have been resolved, some are still there. This can used to support the claim, specifically the portion of the upkeep of technology and the internet. Many schools block websites that are extremely useful to students. If there is no access why have the technology? This is a report and references other surveys; it is reliable.
Charlton, Bruce G. Addicted to Distraction: Psychological consequences of the modern Mass Media. Great Britain: The University of Buckingham Press, 2014. Print.
Addicted to Distraction compares Mass Media to Plato's Myth of The Cave. Humans are completely entranced by their technology and many do not realize it. Needs further review. This book was published by a university, making it a reliable source. Charlton is a doctor and has written several books on psychology. The book, however, is biased and sounds a bit like a rant. In the final paper, including the distraction technology poses can be a key point in why technology is not worth it.
