TPACK Reflective Essay

Intro: TPACK is a vital framework for sustaining knowledge needed by a teacher for effective pedagogical practice in a technology enhanced learning environment (Howell, 2012: p. 30). During the weeks of 6 through till 9, a series of mentoring sessions went on. Students were to mentor the other students in class their strengths that were stated in the TPACK task two assignments. The students also had to be mentored by the other students on the weaknesses that they had provided in their TPACK framework in task two. The strength that was going to be mentored to the class was primary school maths applications on ipads in small groups, however due to another student replicating the same activity, another activity was chosen. This activity was to show pre-service teachers how to use the website scootle via the computer which projected onto the screen. This TPACK framework is important and will be used and developed throughout the rest of this course to ensure effective teaching methods are used.

One will be by regularly checking the Australian professional standards as way to see where my teaching is at and where there is room for improvement. This site is fantastic in terms of information on what is required from a teacher to succeed and is a guide for the rest of your teaching career. Regularly having access to ACARA which is a site that “sets out, through content descriptions and achievement standards, what students should be taught and achieve, as they progress through school” (The Australian Curriculum v7.1. (2014), will be vital throughout the teaching degree to further understand what is required to teach for each year level and what prior knowledge the students should
