In modern society technology is constantly advancing and improving. The children in our society are living in a digital/technology era where new cell phones, tablets, computers, televisions, video games etc. are constantly growing and evolving. Our youth today are growing up in a whole different type of environment compared the generations like our parents and grandparents. This may be why many people have negative opinions and feedback towards the growing technological era we are in today. Compared to earlier years in America the use of the internet is very prevalent in modern society. According to Beavis, “90% of young people accessed the internet, up from 65% in 2006 and 79% in 2009.” Children today have the access today to find out basically anything in the world by the use of the internet. Technological advancements like the cell phone, laptops, tablets, personal hotspots and Wi-Fi now allow children to access the internet almost anywhere you go. It is up to the parents of these children to monitor how much technology they allow their children to use. This can low the use of it and therefore leading to less distractions by the means of technology. Parents also need to monitor the content of the things their children are able to access. Parents can monitor what their children search on the internet and let them know what they should and should not access through technology. Parents can be the leading factor to helping limit all of the negative comments about technology.

In conclusion the evolving technology in society has many advantages in the classroom, socially, and also in forms of entertainment. These technological advancements allow the youth the access things we could ever imagine.
