The fact that we spend a quarter of our lives on these glowing LED screens, it might be important to know what they do to us. The first controversy is social media, where more and more of our interactions with other people have become digital. The concern with this, according to Documents 1 and 3, is that we lose our ability to be satisfied in our own company, and we are then instantly depressed when we are alone. What social media does is classifies being alone as if it was a problem that needs solving, instead of a moment to self-reflect in the peace and quiet. This time helps us consolidate our thoughts in a break from our often-demanding lives. While creating this perception in society that happiness is being connected all the time, technology also becomes a great distraction from productivity.
