Technology breakthroughs in World War II There were many technology breakthroughs in World War II. Some were very destructible others healed like heavenly medicine. (Grolier 25) Technology like Chain home systems were widely used to detect aircrafts in an area. Technology in World War II includes V-1 flying bombs, medical technology, and Chain home systems. (Grolier 24) The most widely used bomb for Germany is called the V-1 Flying bomb. (Grolier 24) The bomb was discovered by Germany and was hidden as a secret weapon known as the F26-76. (Grolier 25) The V-1 was built in Peenevnvncle and was in May 1943.The British soon found out about the bomb and attempted to destroy all operations and plantations of the V-1 Flying bomb. Families with young children sent them to rural areas with relatives so that they would not be hurt. The V-1 was also known as the buzz bomb because it made a buzzing sound when it was flying through the sky. People surviving the war then described it as if it was a motorcycle without silencers. The V-1 extended across a radius of 400-600 yards in each direction 6184 people were killed by the V-1 and 17981 were seriously injured by the bomb also there were countless numbers of people who were terrified and fled their homes. The V-1 caused billions and billions of dollars of property damage to England sometimes over 20 homes would collapse and
