As humans continued to improve and develop in technology fields, it has become a larger factor of people’s lives. The scholarly journal that will be introduced in this paper (Mitchell, Jones, Turner, Shattuck, & Wolak, 2015) is focused on researching whether involving technology in peer harassment will result in the intensification of the emotional impact brought upon the victims. Cyberbullying has become a rising issue that has become a main point of focus, as there has been great concern over the question of whether technology-based harassment or bullying will inflict greater harm upon the victims than the traditional bullying done in person (Mitchell et al., 2015). Rather than focusing on cyberbullying, which is the least problematic, people should pick out the real problem (Mitchell et al., 2015). This can greatly help the victims escape the situation and prevent future victims. This research project had its strengths, including having a strict requirement for participants, comparing many variables between the types of harassments, and asking the victims directly (Mitchell et al., 2015). However, it also had its weaknesses, like focusing too much of its attention on technology-only incidents and disregarding others, getting possibly inaccurate and easily influenced answers to questions, and an inaccurate measure of the emotional impact (Mitchell et al., 2015). Being the first to investigate this topic, it contributed greatly to this area of knowledge (Mitchell et al., 2015). This research proved to me that even if technology is as advanced as it is now, people are not affected by it as much as I previously thought they would. For future studies, an important question that arose in this research was the reason why mixed incidents are more negatively impactful than the other two types of harassments (Mitchell et al., 2015). This may reveal other variables that affect the results of a harassment, which can help people further understand the problem and thus find better
