Albert Einstein once said, “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” Due to heavy usage of technology, teenagers are becoming socially isolated. Technology is used heavily amongst teenagers for numerous reasons, one being multitasking. When allowing a student to plug their brains into a environment they are not naturally evolved into we are allowing technology to rewire their brain in a blink of an eye. Participating in National Shut Down Your Screen Week would encourage intimate relationships that have decreased over the past 20 years.
Technology can have its advantages like receiving information quickly, getting things done promptly, and/or having an increase in efficiency

Many would choose entertainment rather than stimulation because the excitement is expeditious. Researchers worry that constant digital stimulation, creates attention problems for children with brains that are still developing. Attention problems that affect their lives in the long run, these kids, our teens are the next in line to run our country, but how can they with a phone in front of their view? ( From a NY times article) It was conducted by Vicky Rideout, a researcher who has previously shown that media use among children and teenagers ages 8 to 18 has grown so fast that they on average spend twice as much time with screens each year as they spend in school. The time our children, our teens spend on their devices weighs heavily on their education and cancels out what they have learned each year. Engaging in National shut down our screens, week would help their schooling gain the attention it isn’t receiving. Students are losing their way, becoming more socially isolated, competent, and detached from learning, as they dig deeper into technology's grasped. With the article presented, it’ll give an idea to why National shut down our screens, week would do wonders for our teens
