The key to understanding how technology works throughout the field of nursing, is understanding that technology is used in every day work. From electronic medical records to IV pumps, the use of technology doesn’t just begin the day we start our career, it begins in nursing school. According to Susan Galloway (2009), “From an educational perspective, the amount of knowledge required today to practice safe patient care demands the adoption of a pedagogy that goes beyond traditional didactic teaching. Traditional education relies heavily on linguistic intelligence and rote memorization.
