Technology and its Negative Side Effects

When you’re walking or doing a task, what is the sound you hear the most? It’s the sound of people’s phones ringing of an oncoming call or a text. Technology is advancing each and every day especially the things we use the most such as computers and cell phones. In today’s society the only thing you need to research, entertain and communicate are all in a computer (laptops, tablets, etc.) and cell phones with applications by a button and click away just only tinier and thinner. The aspect of technology has evolved that every day people rely on it which resulted to have negative effects along with it. Behind the whole idea of communication is social media, the most popular used apps known are Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Skype and Instagram. All these social media applications have in common is to communicate, share media, online video chatting, a 24 hour of a 10 sec pictures/videos within others through our phones and computers. The capacity of what these social media apps can do is beyond, although for every positive aspect of technology there will always have its negatives behind it all, which we as humans never ever think of it. Now a days in most teens and adults have been depending their self-worth by likes and followers not only that, but the amount of people you’re friends with or who viewed your snapchat story. At the end of the day we don’t realize that we strongly care to use social media as a necessity to post and share our memories rather than to remember them forever in your minds. In today’s society the only thing that parents have kids occupied is by giving them, tablets or phones. It is outstanding how kids spend more time on using a phone often, that they already know its functions. For example, my little brother who is only 5 years old knows how to text and call me through my dad’s phone. Technology prevented us to become deep thinkers to the point when we have the attention span of 1 second less than of a goldfish. In addition to in being deep thinkers, is inventions of new phones and its texting options. The inventions of technology such as the iPhones have become nothing new but a longer screen and a slight fast processor, but still looks and functions the same. On the other hand with cell phones having the options to auto correct (corrects our misspelled words), autofill (complete half spelled words), and text abbreviating our texts which limits us to fully spell or type our message out. Also some of the most important and common uses of technology is for research. In the past we used to go to the library to read books in order to complete our projects and homework, but now all of it can be done by tiny platform that can retrieve in seconds away. Altogether technology has become our go to find and solve answer rather than using our minds more often leads us to affect us in a more physical
