How Do Robots Affect Society

Technology has advanced so much over the years and is only going to continue to advance as humans gain more knowledge and skills. The invention of technology has provided us with so many benefits such as the advancement in health care, leisure products, eco friendly vehicles, etc. However, technology also has some negatives as it pollutes our earth and has become a big influence in our society today. Recently a popular topic in the news has been the advancement in robots. Hopefully the manufacturing and invention of robots will create more manufacturing jobs in the world. However, a main ethical concern that many are worrying about is once robots become intelligent there is a high chance they will start replacing humans in the work flied. Robots have already started to enter the workforce in some countries around the world and society is starting to wonder what will happen to people who are left jobless due to being replace by technology. From my tweets I was able to gain a better understanding of the advancement we have made in technology and how this could impact society in the future. However, some of the tweets I’ve made mentioned how they have started to introduce robots into restaurants as waiters and other jobs that are typically done by humans. I think the introduction of robots replacing humans in the work place could affect our society and cultural environment based on current norms and values that we have. Robots may have a hard time being accepted in some countries that have strong religious and cultural beliefs. I also think people may be a little resistant to accept robots in fields that humans would normally do such as doctor, pilot and police
