In today’s society, we have seen an exponential growth in the realm of technology. For example, we have gone from flip phones to touch screen smart phones and from regular cars to cars that drive themselves. These are just a few examples to demonstrate how modern technology is advancing at a fast rate. Nevertheless, we must slow down and ask ourselves, is rapid growth of technology helping or hurting us as a society? Another point to consider is rapid growth of technology helps bring the future closer to us, but at what expense? This is a question that concerns many of us that uses some form of technology on a regular basis. Technology has been a great asset to society as we know it. For example, with the development of newer smart phones, which includes, social media people have become less sociable in public than ever before. One photographer named Baby cakes Romero created a wordless article named the “Death of Conversation” in where the author takes random pictures of people that are obsessed with their smartphones. As a result, most people are not being able to hold a meaningful conversation without the use of social media. In addition to social media, the smart phones that are developed these days usually have a video recorder feature that people can use to capture memorable moments. This presents one problem mentioned in an article called “The 7 signs we are too dependent on technology”. The article talks about people spending time figuring out how to use the video recorder they don’t live in the moment of the event taking place right in front of them. Also, cars are being developed that drive themselves causing people to be far too trusting and less careful, which leaves room for irresponsibility and unaccountability. In addition, the transportation industry has used information from a testing phase to develop additional approaches to vehicles safety and environmental sustainability. It was noted by Sayer “"This is a game-changer for transportation." Let 's hope so. If it 's impossible to improve driver attention, it will be helpful to improve vehicle intelligence”. Accountability of drivers is in the process of being taken away by the accommodations developed to help with a current problem called TWD (talking while driving). In other words, laziness has crept into society due to the heavy dependence on technology.
