Spending various hours online can affect or benefit, depending on how it’s being used by the person. The internet has become a big part of our lives throughout these past years. We basically use the internet for everything to finding locations, contacting family, and even booking a flight. We may ask ourselves if everyone is using the internet the right way because on the internet just about anything can be found. Many users of the internet are found to be teens, they seem to be getting addicted to the technology and being online. The three sources I will be using to see if technology is affecting teens are, 10 Great Things Teens Learn While “Playing” Online, Teens and the Internet: How Much Is Too Much, and Are You Distracted by Technology.
In the first source, 10 Great Things Teens Learn While “Playing” Online, gives information on how a teen or child is affected while spending too much time on the internet. There has been researchers who observe students during school. It is proven that children and teenagers between the ages eight through eighteen spend twice as much time on in front of screens than in school. The teachers have now worked harder to capture the attention of students. It is also proven that the behavior of a student can be affected by the use of internet because of heavy stimulation and rapid shifts in attention. The use of the internet has affected the communication face to face of a student and hurt critical and their ability of doing homework.
